* Alli Kennewell |
Alli Kennewell was a 4-year
starting infielder for the University of Missouri. In her time at
Mizzou, they made it to three regional appearances, two Big XII
tournament Championship games, and
finished as a top-20 team in the nation. Alli received All-Big XII
academic honors and Defensive Player of the Year. She played and
learned under the current coach of Mizzou, Ehren Earleywine.
Earleywine has established himself as one of the best coaches in the
nation, leading the Tigers to back-to-back-back World Series
appearances from 2009-2011.
Since graduating in 2007,
Alli has earned a Master’s degree in Psychology and has become a
full-time instructor. She is now owner/instructor of iTrain, a
softball instruction system offering high quality instruction to
athletes across North Texas. She plans to expand iTrain to offer
instruction in other areas such as pitching, catching, and slapping
instruction.
Alli teaches a simple, yet powerful swing that
emphasizes the importance of using body weight, balance, and bat
speed. Although the swings of many professional baseball and
softball hitters appear different, there are certain points of the
swing that all great hitters find. Alli believes in emphasizing
these points as well as combining them with a player’s personal
style and comfort. Using her degree, she also stresses the
importance of the mental side of hitting. Translating hitting at
practice into hitting in the game can be one of the hardest and
often most neglected areas of the game. Often mental game and
confidence issues hinder the performance of the athlete, so Alli
uses mental game techniques as well as addresses all areas of
hitting to help a player reach her full potential.
